At the age of 18, Thuba’s magnetic personality and impressive voice got him into the Idols Top 14 of 2009.

Since then, Thuba has become one of Centrestage’s most sought after corporate performers.

He performs in various roles:

Solo artist: he is superb at creating a classy tone in a background set, performing show-stopping cabaret items and stand-out performance pieces, themed shows and he can single-handedly keep a dancefloor vibing for 2 to 3 hours if required.

Duo/Trio: Thuba pairs with the celebrated legacy artist Vicky Sampson in a show entitled “Next Level – from the Stage to your Heart” which was conceived by Colin Law and was launched to great acclaim in Jan 2025. He also appears occasionally with fellow Centrestage artists Tara-Jane Stern and comedian Gino Fabbri for corporate and party functions.

Function MC: Thuba’s class, warmth and like-ability has seen him helm many top functions as MC.

Band leader: Thuba has fronted several high-profile bands and tribute shows over the years.

Vocal Director: Thuba has a keen ear for harmony and plays the role of vocal director for shows

Original House Music creator: Under the name 2Bad, Thuba has paired up with some of SA’s top producers to create his own style of house music.

GENERAL

Thuba Myeki is a Gqeberha based singer, MC, songwriter, recording artist, actor, voice over artist and television presenter.

As one of production company Centrestage’s most talented and high profile artists, Thuba acts as MC for top corporate events and performs in a range of singing styles, varying from the elegant sophistication of Michael Buble to fronting rock n roll shows such as The Magnificent 80’s(2024), which he also vocally directed.

His television work includes a recurring guest role on “Generations The Legacy”(2015) and appearances on TV shows such as “Greed and Desire”(2016) and “Rhythm City”(2016).

He also hosted the Mpuma Kapa or BayTV show “Ekse Mamela”(2017), and appeared as “Sweet Sbuda in an online advert for First Choice Custard(2022).

On the theatrical front, Thuba played the lead role of “Frank Butler” in a critically acclaimed revival of the musical “Annie Get Your Gun”(2017), which won him a Showtime Award for Best Actor in a Musical.

Thuba was an Idols Season 5 Top 14 finalist in 2009.

Under the stage name “2Bad”, Thuba writes, records and performs his own original music in what he describes as “soulful, deep House and Trap Soul” style.

In 2012 he featured In Kalawa Jazmee house group Point 5’s debut album – “First Point” on the hit single “Tell me”, a hit music video on Channel O. He went on to feature on Kalawa Jazmee artist Heavy-k’s debut album – “Respect The Drumboss” on the song “Katalina”, as well as featuring on Heavy-k’s second album – “Respect The Drumboss 2015” on the song “Second Chance”.

“2Bad” released his own debut album #BestBelieve in 2014 on iTunes with the hit single “Believe” which also has a music video on MTV base and Channel O.

Most recently, Thuba has performed with the likes of PJ Powers, Vicky Sampson, Louise Carver, and Lloyd Cele In numerous corporate events around South Africa.

In his latest Centrestage show The “Innovators”, which he vocally directed, Thuba pays tribute to Michael Jackson, Prince, and Bruno Mars.

He also recently played a plumber on the hit Afrikaans television show “Ouma Sarie”, and starred in the ABS Productions movie “Die Lewe Is ‘n Lied” which came out on the 3rd of February 2024 on VIA tv.
