Based: Cape Town

The Cape Town Gospel Choir was founded in 2010 by Origin South Africa. Our Artistic Director Colin Peckham grew up in Cape Town and studied music at Edinburgh University in the UK. Admission to the choir is by auditions, which are carried out throughout the year on request, or in one of our annual auditions roadshows. The ability to read music is an advantage, but not essential. A good, confident singing voice with the ability to hold pitch in parts is necessary.

Not your ordinary Gospel choir, the Cape Town Gospel Choir is run by Origin South Africa and aspires to the best in Gospel Music in the Western Cape. We are passionate about sharing our faith through great music. We host annual events in major venues with our band and orchestral players. We launched the choir at a major event in Cape Town City Hall on 11th December 2010 and have since performed in venues all over Cape Town, at the V&A Waterfront, the Kirstenbosch carols, and recorded for SABC Television, South African filmmakers, and a European film company. We are passionate about promoting understanding and social upliftment across social, economic and racial divides, and work hard to promote cohesion by example and performance.
