Based: Pretoria
Anders Orkes is a dynamic and award-winning South African Afrikaans pop-country music duo based in Pretoria, known for crafting heartfelt songs that resonate with audiences across genres. The group has established itself as one of the standout contemporary Afrikaans acts with multiple Ghoema Music Awards, including Best Album by a Group or Duo and Best Group of the Year for their acclaimed album #ek onthou.
Formed by talented songwriters and vocalists Wynand & Lindi Delport, Anders began their musical journey with the spiritually inspired debut Dink, Leef, Klink, which made significant waves in the geestelike (spiritual) music scene. They followed this with the romantic collection #liefdesverhale, both earning nominations at the prestigious Ghoema Awards and helping them build a devoted fan base.
Anders Orkes’s music blends pop, country and contemporary Afrikaans sounds, combining smooth harmonies, relatable storytelling and engaging rhythms. Their compelling music videos — including the uplifting “Ons Koning kom” and the emotive “Mooi vir my” — became popular on South African music channels and contributed to several of their singles reaching top-10 positions on national radio charts.
In addition to their studio work, Anders wrote and performed the theme song “Die pad” for the Afrikaans feature film Vrou soek boer, helping bring their music to cinema audiences. They also created the widely embraced musical theme for the film Knysna, gaining further acclaim on both radio and television.
For live performances, Anders Orkes collaborates with some of South Africa’s finest session musicians — including Jason Moser (drums) and Rixi Roman (guitar) — to bring extra depth and energy to their concerts, giving each show a rich, organic sound and vibrant stage presence.
Rich in melody and rich in emotion, Anders Orkes continues to evolve their songwriting and performance craft while celebrating modern Afrikaans music through albums, singles and highly engaging live appearances.
