As Thanda Choir, we are pleased to present our vision statement. Thanda Choir is a community-based organization that is a home for many of our singers. With the Choir being based in Khayelitsha, we are founded upon the children and teenagers who live in the township. The choir functions as an NGO, where the primary goal is to be able to produce and sell our music but most importantly, provide an environment and a space that serves as a vehicle for its members to use to re-define their socio economic experience, in an attempt to give our members a better quality of life.

At Thanda, we are deeply dedicated to developing and stimulating sustainable frameworks within the diverse fabric of Khayelitsha’s NGO community. Here, our philosophy goes beyond just music, focusing on a strong commitment to fostering teamwork among NGOs. We imagine a community where obstacles are reduced, rules are strengthened, but innovation and potential for change are still unlimited.

The core of our mission is to improve the quality, availability, and effectiveness of education. We strongly believe that the convergence of music and education is not just by chance but is crucial in bringing about deep societal transformation.
