Adv Tembeka Ngcukaitobi is a South African lawyer, public speaker, author and political activist. He is a member of the South African Law Reform Commission (SALRC). Ngcukaitobi has authored the book “The Land Is Ours: South Africa’s First Black Lawyers and the birth of Constitution”.

He went into law studies at University of Transkei and completed hiss LLB at Rhodes university. Ngcukaitobi was propelled into public consciousness when he demonstrated his proficiency in the field of law when he demolished the arguments raised by Cooperative Governance Minister Des van Rooyen, who sought to delay the release of the Public Protector’s report on how the Gupta family has or has not influenced the way President Jacob Zuma runs his administration. He subsequently received public praise from the likes of Zwelinzima Vavi and Mbuyiseni Ndlozi.

Ngcukakaitobi also spent year as researcher to chief justice Arthur Chaskalson and serves on the South African Law Reform Commission, which advises parliament and the executive on the constitutionality of laws from both the pre and post-apartheid eras. He is touted as a future Chief Justice.
