Sterling EQ is a dynamic all-female instrumental pop group based in Cape Town, renowned for their innovative fusion of classical virtuosity with contemporary beats. The ensemble has played a pioneering role in redefining instrumental crossover music in South Africa and internationally.
The group is led by electric flautist Carina Bruwer, alongside accomplished musicians on electric violin and electric cello. All classically trained performers, the members combine technical excellence with modern musical influences, creating an energetic and visually captivating live performance style.
Since their formation in 2007, Sterling EQ has released several successful recordings and performed hundreds of live shows across South Africa and abroad. Their music and performances have reached audiences in multiple countries, including appearances at prestigious events such as the SAMA Awards Show, the FIFA Congress Opening Ceremony and Official World Cup Banquet, and the World Travel Awards.
The ensemble received a South African Music Award (SAMA) and has collaborated and shared stages with international artists including Boney M, Snow Patrol and Lira, performing for audiences that include prominent global celebrities.
