Nesya Fertel is a gifted young classically trained violinist, soloist and keynote-concert performer currently based in Los Angeles. She studies at the prestigious Colburn School under internationally acclaimed violin pedagogue Robert Lipsett. Her playing combines formidable technical precision with expressive warmth, musical maturity and an instinctive ability to connect with an audience. Nesya began studying violin at the age of three with Emily Price and later continued her training with Eugene Watanabe before studying with Lipsett. Her development has also included masterclasses and private lessons with distinguished musicians including Midori Goto, Alexander Kerr, Brian Lewis, David Halen, Fabiola Kim, Ian Swensen, Jean-Yves Thibaudet and Danielle Belen.
Her talent emerged at an early age. In 2020, she won First Prize at the American Protégé International Music Competition, together with the competition’s overall Judge’s Distinction Award, and also took First Prize in the International Young Artists Competition. Further accolades followed, including First Prize in the MTNA Junior State String Competition and the Charleston Romantic Music Competition.
