Ntokozo Mbuli continues to anchor the show but also wearing the hat of Executive Producer.
With over 19 years of television broadcast experience, and as General Manager at Clive Morris Productions – the company that creates 50|50 for SABC 2. Ntokozo’s off-screen career is where she places the bulk of her focus and energy – writing and producing for much of CMP’s programming. That being said, her role at the helm of 50|50 as the series and executive producer of the programme is the most dear to her. Her on-screen career began in the hands of 50|50 in 2006 with a 4minute slot per episode, as the presenter of “Bosbrokkies/Bush Buzz”. Since then she has grown in leaps and bounds, both in her understanding of conservation issues and in television experience.
She is currently the longest serving member of the 50|50 team and has achieved many accolades along the way, some of which include being named one of the Mail & Guardian’s 200 Young South Africans of 2013, and receiving the Future Leader’s award in the 2013 Greening The Future Awards.
In 2015 WESSA (Wildlife and Environment Society of South Africa) honoured her with their National Award For Individuals, for the work that she has done to aspire young people from different backgrounds to take conservation and the environment more seriously.
Since she started presenting on 50|50 in 2006, Ntokozo has been involved in many environmental projects and campaigns, and she has also had the opportunity to present environmental TV shows on other channels, such as the educational television series: Project Marion (SABC 2 – 2009/2010) and the children’s daytime wildlife show: Wild Ones (SABC 3 – 2007). Added to this, she has been the face of campaigns such as the “Plastics Fantastic” recycling drive, The Community Builder of the Year and the “46664 Streetwise” AIDS initiative.
She is currently spearheading initiatives of her own, one of which is the “allow your hands” project, which encourages youth to make a difference.
