I love working with technology to create positive user experiences, solve problems and help businesses to achieve their goals. I am a multi-disciplinary technology manager with an established track record in managing technology environments, My work experience spans across multiple countries which allows me to have a diverse perspective. I have 15 years of professional experience in different roles in the technology sector working both for large multinationals and small enterprises.
My career history includes various roles which have included business analysis, data analysis, software development, project management, scrum master, management consulting, training etc. Currently my passion and focus is on the importance of positive user experience and deploying solutions that improve customer intimacy and ultimately strengthening brand loyalty and customer retention.
I have a passion for mentoring young people to develop in their careers, and I take special focus in supporting women to enter and remain in the tech sector.
In 2019 I was selected by the US State Department as part of 108 Tech Women Leaders across 21 countries to participate in an exchange program in Silicon Valley for a period of six weeks. In the same year I was also selected as an Inspiring Fifty winner. Inspiring Fifty is an award presented by the Netherlands to top 50 women in tech who are also focused on having a social impact in their community. In 2020 I was selected by the UK government as part of twelve Female Tech Founders who have a passion for social impact to participate in a program in London. During this trip I also spoke at the inaugural UK-Africa Investment Summit in January 2020.
I am focused on putting my passions and skills to good use by supporting organisations and projects that I really care about. Some of these are being Head Judge for Technovation 2019 (and 2020) which is a global tech competition for young girls who develop an app to solve a social problem. I am also the Founder of the GIFT (Girls in FinTech) Foundation which mentors and encourages young girls from informal settlements in Cape Town to pursue careers in the FinTech sector.
My key capabilities are: Project Management, Design Thinking, Data Protection, Scrum/Agile Coaching and Enterprise Information Management. I’m interested in helping organisations use data and technology to drive business value and increase competitiveness.
