Lester’s career in media began in 2004 when he walked through the doors at CapeTalk as a 19-year-old news intern. From these early beginnings, he developed a deep love for radio and storytelling — a passion that has shaped his entire professional journey.

Over more than two decades in the industry, Lester has built an impressive and varied journalism portfolio. In 2018, Lester returned to CapeTalk — the station he considers his journalistic “home” — to take on a range of presenting roles, including a late-night talk show and The Midday Report, where he combined hard news with engaging analysis.

Today, as host of Good Morning Cape Town, Lester brings curiosity, warmth, and fearless conversation to the airwaves. His show blends high-profile interviews, listener engagement, and thoughtful commentary on local, national and global issues. Beyond his on-air persona, Lester is known for his deep connection to Cape Town — the city where he was born and raised — and his genuine interest in its people, history, and communities. Off air, he enjoys exploring Cape Town’s neighbourhoods, learning about its heritage, and immersing himself in local culture.
