Lady Du, born Duduzile Ngwenya, is an award-winning South African Amapiano artist, DJ, vocalist and songwriter who has established herself as one of the genre’s most recognisable female voices.
Born and raised in Vosloorus, Gauteng, Lady Du’s relationship with music began remarkably early. Coming from a musical family, she started DJing at approximately 11 years old, gaining exposure to the industry long before Amapiano became the international movement it is today. Her early career saw her working within South Africa’s house and dance scene and alongside established names including DJ Fresh, DJ Cleo, DJ Clock, DJ Mshega and DJ Tira’s Afrotainment.

Lady Du’s major breakthrough came through the explosive growth of Amapiano, where her distinctive vocals, energetic personality and ability to move seamlessly between singing, DJing and performance quickly set her apart.

Another major career moment came with her contribution to K.O’s “SETE” alongside Young Stunna. The track became one of South Africa’s biggest contemporary hits and further extended Lady Du’s profile beyond the core Amapiano market.
