It lead him to create and lead, Etoile de Matin (Morning Star) which performed original music, mostly his own compositions. At this point he started participating in competitions and festivals, some of which were organized by the French Cultural Center, including:
· National Festival of Peace (International Red Cross)
· Francophony Celebrations
· Fespaco 1996
· Fespam 1997 & 2003
· FRI Musique du Monde

· Visa Francophone de Rouerge

In 1997 he was inspired to take up bass guitar by the music of Etienne Mbape and Marthe Linley. He stayed on working and performing until 2004, when he finally headed for South Africa.
