Dawie Roodt is one of South Africa’s best-known economists and economic commentators, with more than 30 years’ experience in economic and political analysis.
He is a founder, Executive Director and Chief Economist of Efficient Group and Chairman of Efficient Private Clients, where he is closely involved in economic research, investment strategy and the management of client portfolios.
Dawie specialises in fiscal and monetary policy, with particular expertise in government finances, taxation, debt, inflation, interest rates and the broader South African economy. He also closely follows international economics and political developments and their implications for businesses and investors.
Before entering the private sector, Dawie spent nine years as an economist at the South African Reserve Bank and subsequently worked as the economic editor of a financial publication.
