Based: Johannesburg
Cul’Afrika is a Johannesburg-based modular performance concept created to celebrate South Africa’s cultural diversity through music, dance and high-energy live entertainment. Designed as a flexible show format, it can be tailored to suit different parts of an event, beginning with a slower, more atmospheric opening set and building into a vibrant, celebratory finale.
The production is built around a core group of four performers who reflect the country’s cultural richness and musical variety. Its repertoire pays tribute to iconic South African artists and styles, drawing on music associated with names such as Brenda Fassie, Mango Groove, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Johnny Clegg, Yvonne Chaka Chaka, PJ Powers, Miriam Makeba and Freshlyground.
Because the concept is modular, Cul’Afrika works especially well for corporate functions, themed events, gala dinners and celebrations that need something distinctly South African, visually engaging and adaptable to different moments within the programme. Rather than functioning as a standard band only, it is positioned as a curated show experience that can be shaped around the client’s brief and event flow.
