The band’s name comes from the isiXhosa word yombela – to dance and sing rhythmically inresponse to a spiritual calling or song. Traditionally associated with celebration, healing and communal ceremony, the word perfectly reflects the spirit of the band’s music: joyful, soulful and deeply human. Every performance invites audiences into a shared experience where singing, dancing and connection become one.
