Recognized for his speed, agility, power and strength on the field, Cheslin Kolbe is a force to be reckoned with in World Rugby. His passion, hard work, commitment and desire to prove everyone wrong, due to his size, has fueled his journey right to the top of the game, standing today as a Rugby World Cup Champion as well as French domestic league, Top 14’s Player of the Year.
Between 2012 and 2017, Kolbe represented the South Africa Sevens team. In 2013, he was included in the squad for the 2013 Rugby World Cup Sevens. In 2016, Kolbe was included in the 12-man squad for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
Kolbe moved to France to join Top 14 side Toulouse for the 2017-18 season and received a call-up to the South Africa ‘Springbok’ national team for the 2018 Rugby Championship. He made his test debut for his country against Australia on September 8th.
In June 2019,Kolbe lifted the Top 14 French domestic championship trophy with Stade Toulousain and on November 2nd, Kolbe was part of the 2019 World-Cup Winning team in Japan, scoring a late try in the, second half of the Final against England, and returning the ‘Springboks’ to the top of the rugby world rankings for the first time in 10 years.
Kolbe stands today as one of the most agile athletes in modern sport and one of the best wingers in world rugby. Away from rugby, Kolbe is a devoted father and husband, and committed humanitarian, spending much of his time away from the field engaging in community-driven initiatives.
