BDCL is an afro/indie pop rock band from Cape Town. With their single “Easy Love”
recently making the 5fm Top 10 Chart and reaching #1 on the Tuks FM Top 30, these
guys are not wasting time finding their spot in the local music scene. With a fusion of
local and international sounds, this dynamic trio has heads turning at a rapidly growing
rate.
Ben Dey is a prolific lyricist. His memorable hooks are held together by poetic verses
that use commercial metaphors to express subversive socio, political and environmental
themes. Ongama Mona is a force of nature – music and soul flow through him. His
versatility as a guitarist and vocalist is awe-inspiring. Over the past 10 years Ongama
has worked locally and abroad with some of the countries top musicians. Alex Birns and
Ben started their first band when they were 14 years old. Given their long friendship and
history, Alex was a natural fit to Ben and Ongoma’s new band. Alex’s skill is matched by
his chilled energy and artistic flair.
With a vision of uplifting and inspiring their audiences, BDCL are set to take South Africa
by storm.
