ARK is a South African rock collaboration bringing together three of the country’s most recognisable alternative rock frontmen: Arno Carstens, Ross Learmonth, and Kahn Morbee.

The project unites decades of South African rock history through the combined legacies of their respective bands – Springbok Nude Girls, Prime Circle, and The Parlotones – each of which helped shape the country’s modern rock scene from the late 1990s onward.

Arno Carstens is widely regarded as one of the pioneers of South African alternative rock. As the charismatic lead singer of Springbok Nude Girls and later as a solo artist, he earned multiple South African Music Awards and shared stages with international acts including U2 and The Rolling Stones.

Ross Learmonth rose to fame as the voice of Prime Circle, one of South Africa’s most commercially successful rock bands. Known for hits such as “Hello” and “She Always Gets What She Wants,” Learmonth spent more than two decades fronting the band before pursuing a solo career.

Kahn Morbee became known for his distinctive vocals and songwriting with The Parlotones, whose albums and live performances earned them widespread acclaim both locally and internationally. The band gained major popularity through albums such as A World Next Door to Yours and performances alongside global acts including Coldplay.

As ARK, the three artists combine their signature vocal styles, songwriting experience, and stage presence into a collaborative live experience that celebrates South African rock heritage while introducing fresh interpretations and original material. The project is built around powerful harmonies, acoustic and rock arrangements, and the shared musical chemistry between three iconic frontmen from different generations of South African rock.
