Alida Scheepers is a highly talented South African opera soprano and stage performer whose rich voice and compelling stage presence have made her one of the exciting young artists emerging from the country’s classical music scene. She trained extensively in the United Kingdom, graduating with a BMus (Hons) from the prestigious Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance (Cum Laude), and her vocal training includes classical, operatic and theatrical disciplines that underpin her versatile performance style.

Alida is a former member of the Cape Town Opera Young Artist Programme, where she appeared in a variety of operatic productions and concert performances, building her reputation as a powerful lyric and coloratura soprano. During her time with the company she has been featured in productions such as The Sound of Music, Le Nozze di Figaro and Cinderella (Cendrillon), delighting audiences with both classic operatic roles and engaging staged performances.

In addition to her opera work, Alida has been invited to perform at major classical events, including the ATKV-Galakonsert at Klein Karoo Klassique, where she shared the stage with other acclaimed Cape Town Opera soloists, presenting arias and ensemble pieces from beloved operas and musical theatre repertoire.

Her stage credits also include standout performances in theatre productions that bridge classical and musical theatre genres, such as her portrayal of the Fairy Godmother in Cinderella, where critics and audiences praised her vocal artistry and commanding performance.

Beyond the concert hall, Alida’s versatility extends into other creative media — she has appeared in film and television productions and continues to perform at corporate and private events, showcasing both her classical prowess and her broad performance range.
