Aki Anastasiou is one of South Africa’s leading technology commentators, futurists and conference facilitators, with more than three decades of experience across radio, television, digital media and the technology sector. Known for his ability to make complex technological developments accessible and relevant, Aki helps business audiences understand how artificial intelligence, automation, digital disruption and emerging technologies are changing the way we live, work and compete.
A familiar voice to generations of South Africans, Aki spent approximately 30 years with Talk Radio 702, where he became widely recognised as the station’s “trafficologist” while simultaneously building a reputation as one of the country’s most knowledgeable technology broadcasters. His broadcasting career has also included technology commentary and programmes across CapeTalk, CNBC Africa and eNCA.
Today, Aki hosts What’s Next with Aki Anastasiou, the MyBroadband business and technology interview platform where he engages with leading CEOs, entrepreneurs, innovators and technology executives. By August 2026, the platform had surpassed 17 million views, demonstrating the significant audience he has built around conversations on business, leadership and technology.
Technology & Future Trends
Aki has spent decades tracking the evolution of technology and its impact on business and society. He regularly attends major international technology gatherings, including the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas and Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, giving him direct exposure to emerging global trends and technologies before they reach mainstream adoption.
His current work focuses strongly on Artificial Intelligence, digital transformation, automation, future skills and the future of work. In 2026, he was selected as MC for the inaugural IITPSA Workforce Intelligence Conference, focused specifically on how AI is reshaping organisations, employment and the skills landscape.
Keynote Speaker & MC
Aki is equally accomplished as a keynote speaker, conference facilitator and corporate MC. His energetic presentation style combines technology insights with practical business examples, humour and an ability to translate complicated trends into ideas audiences can immediately understand.
Rather than focusing purely on technology, Aki explores the bigger question: what does technological change mean for people, organisations and the future of business?
He has worked with and consulted for major technology and business brands across multiple industries and is particularly effective at facilitating conversations between CEOs, technology leaders, entrepreneurs and corporate decision-makers.
