The Uukumwe Cultural Group was formed in 1997 with 20 members. The humble beginnings of the group began on the bases of empowering the youth with cultural norms and embracing the Kavango Culture through drama and dance. The Cultural Group acquired this by approaching traditional leaders and elders from Kavango West to Kavango East to search more information about the cultural norms and songs that were performed back in their times.

The Uukumwe Cultural Group is always ready and prepared to full-fill your entertainment needs, the traditional way. The group has been exempted from competitions, due to their rhythmic and flawless performances during regional, national events. They have also received numerous international invitations for entertainment purposes.
