The Survivors Dance Crew is a Durban-based South African dance group established in 2013 by a group of passionate young dancers. The crew was formed with a shared determination to overcome difficult circumstances through their love of dance and to create positive opportunities for themselves and other young people.
The Survivors are known for their energetic street-dance performances, incorporating styles including Pantsula, hip-hop and contemporary urban dance. They have competed successfully in major South African dance competitions and were crowned winners of the Shield Do Dance competition and Break Da Beat, which was broadcast on SABC 1.
The crew has also represented South Africa internationally, including appearances at World of Dance in the United States. Beyond performing, The Survivors are committed to developing young talent through dance workshops, training and community programmes in Durban.
