Thulisile began her acting career in 2012 when she played the role of Zama in Tshisha – SABC 1 show series. The following year, 2013, she joined e.tvs Craze-e – a youth piece program.
While at Craze-e, she introduced and facilitated a number of shows in the company of Kriya Gangiah, Zola Hashatsi, and Stephanie Sandows.
In 2014, she got recruited for the new look generation. This was after the initial sixteen-cast member reached a stalemate due to a compensation dispute.
She was assigned the role of Namhala – a 17-year old secondary student, whose mother is an ex-convict, Lucy Diale, acted by Manaka Ranaka.
While not many South Africans would be able to identify who Thulisile Phongolo is by her name, a good number of her people and foreigners alike can be able to pick her out of a lineup or identity her as DJ Thuli P or Namhia Diale, the famous Character she played in the soap opera, Generations: The legacy.
