Stewart has been in the music industry for 45 years and started at the early age of 11, where he performed in a band for a television program in the United Kingdom.

Stewart was contracted to the Holiday Inn Hotels countrywide with a band called ‘Hatric’. He also collaborated with artists such as Johnny Clegg, Wendy Oldfield, PJ Powers and other top South African artists.

In 1989 he returned to England and formed a 7 pc rock band called ‘Rewind’ and found himself on tour with successful bands such as Deep Purple, Wishbone Ash, and many other UK acts.

In 2009 after 20 years in the UK, Stewart returned to South Africa and formed the popular duo called Robust. He partners with Kevin Reed who is also a professional local musician, and their repitoire is focused on classic songs from the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s era, but also includes a few songs from the 2000’s.

Robust covers all genres of music including jazz, blues, pop, rock and and reggae.

Kevin is an accomplished guitarist and singer who began his music career in high school and signed his first recording contract at age 18 with a South African band called The Gents. After some success the group split, and he formed a new band called Phoning Jenny which released two singles.

In the late 80’s Kevin decided to transition into playing cover songs with a trio called Loose Enz. They enjoyed
years of popularity and performed at top venues in Pretoria and Johannesburg. He was then offered an opportunity to join a local group called Shifty Henry who released an album and a follow up single. The band often toured
South Africa and developed a loyal following. They not only played locally, but also performed in Mozambique, Zambia, and Dubai.

Kevin is now the guitarist and backing vocalist for Robust alongside dynamic vocalist and percussionist Stewart Dixon. The duo continues to play top venues and special events in South Africa.
