Based: Durban

We love good music and if the music is made for chilled vibes, that’s even better. Palm Tree Paradise are a collective of six young individual artists who came together to create the group back in December 2015.

The members, all under the age of 30, include rappers, JayBee, Papa Axsion, P.Dogg Amazin, Sydrow, singer & songwriter Captain Hook and singer, songwriter and producer Row Shotgun. These guys have created an art experiment which provides for the ear the same beauty the City of Durban provides for the eye.

Palm Tree Paradise released their debut single Unbelievable in May 2016 for free download and had over 20 000 downloads. They have since then carved a name for themselves in the local hip hop scene and are quickly growing to be a force to be reckoned with.

The single has been play listed on national radio stations and is on rotation on some TV channels. They have performed in many venues in Durban and have had the opportunity to open for local hip hop superstars K.O; Kwesta, and Riky Rick. They have also performed alongside artists like AKA; Nasty C; Aewon Wolf;  WTF; Erick Rush.

The video for Unbelievable is as fresh as the track with Durban coastline as the backdrop. Scenes of the Durban coastline, colouful theme park rides, good looking mamis as well as the night life make the video. The visuals for the video are vibrant and colourful. The epitome of summer and the festive season. The video, which premiered on MTV Base’s Spanking New, was directed by Aewon Wolf and shot by Sky Star Films
