Biography

Lwazi Ziqubu is a South African broadcast journalist, sports presenter and MC, best known for his work with SuperSport, where he has established himself as a confident and engaging presence across some of the continent’s biggest football broadcasts. He is based in Johannesburg, Gauteng.

With a natural ability to navigate live television, expert analysis and fast-moving sporting conversations, Lwazi has worked as both a studio anchor and pitch-side presenter, covering major domestic and international football competitions for SuperSport.

His broadcasting credentials include presenting SuperSport’s coverage of the Premier Soccer League (PSL), where he has worked alongside some of South African football’s leading analysts and former players. He has also formed part of SuperSport’s presenting team for major international tournaments, including the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Lwazi was selected as one of SuperSport’s studio anchors for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, joining an anchor team that included Thomas Mlambo, Carol Tshabalala and Wesley Gabriels, with leading football personalities providing analysis throughout the tournament.

In 2026, Lwazi further expanded his profile as one of the anchors of SuperSport’s The Morning Cup, the broadcaster’s daily breakfast programme created around the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Alongside Fiso Mazibuko, he leads a lively pan-African programme combining football analysis with entertainment, music, culture, fashion and topical conversation. The programme features personalities from across Africa, including Phat Joe, Basketmouth, Sarah Hassan and Sirayah Shiraz.

Beyond television, Lwazi brings his broadcasting experience to the corporate and live-event environment as an MC and facilitator. His ability to communicate clearly, think on his feet and comfortably engage with guests makes him particularly well suited to sports events, awards ceremonies, conferences, panel discussions, launches and corporate functions.

With a strong understanding of sport – particularly football – combined with the professionalism required for live broadcasting, Lwazi offers clients an MC who is knowledgeable, articulate, personable and comfortable engaging both high-profile guests and large audiences.
