Kabelo Monnathebe is a South African violinist celebrated for his electrifying blend of classical training, contemporary versatility and dynamic live performance. Based in Johannesburg, he is known for his expressive violin skills that span classical, jazz, folk and crossover music styles.

Kabelo’s musical journey began in Soweto, where he was introduced to the violin at a very young age and inspired by his uncles who are members of the internationally acclaimed Soweto String Quartet. He went on to study at the Buskaid String Academy before earning a full scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music in London, graduating with a BMus (Hons) in 2013. Since returning to South Africa, Kabelo has worked as a freelance violinist, ensemble leader and session musician.

As a sought‑after performer and collaborator, he has shared stages and worked with acclaimed artists across genres, enriching his repertoire and performance depth.
