Ian Bredenkamp has been part of the South African media landscape for nearly 15 years. His skill-set includes radio management, content management & strategy, music consulting, public relations and in-depth, hands-on experience with social media/New Media.
His media business, IBMedia, creates content placement, publicity and social media results for clients. Recent contracts include online content for Bon Jovi’s SA tour, radio placement for SAMA-nominated Macstanley hits Angel and Hold On, social media for the Kings of Chaos SA tour, and publicity for Mike + The Mechanics, Bonnie Tyler, Patrizio Buanne and Alison Moyet tours to South Africa (2013)
Ian is a well-known voice on commercial radio and he presents the daily 9am – 12pm show on 94.5 Kfm. His expertise in the music industry is carried weekly on several other platforms: Eyewitness news online (ewn.co.za), 567 Cape Talk and online for Huisgenoot and YOU magazines.
Ian’s experience has seen him work with the Primedia Broadcasting group of radio stations and websites. He was part of the national team creating and developing the award-winning LeadSA campaign. LeadSA was a finalist for the Loerie: Ubuntu Award 2011 prize
New Media and social media are key drivers in the new marketplace and Ian has been hands-on with maximising their potential in a commercial environment. He was project-manager for the first commercial radio Facebook promotion in SA. “Fan It” was nominated for a 2011 FNB Bookmark award Ian was also community manager for the 94.5 Twitter and Facebook accounts and had completed the Ogilvy Digital Marketing Academy course
Ian’s passion for Public Relations has seen him gather widespread experience: he managed the communication for the Cape Metropolitan Council during the Treasure oil spill and was acting Spokesperson for the Deputy Mayor of Cape Town.
