Sisanda Phiwe Nozewu, professionally known as DJ Pastor / Pastor The DJ, is an established South African radio broadcaster, DJ, MC and content producer with a career spanning more than two decades across radio, television and live entertainment.
Born in East London and raised in the Eastern Cape, DJ Pastor developed an early fascination with radio and broadcasting. He went on to study audiovisual communications and radio production, establishing the technical and creative foundation for what would become a long-standing career in South African media.
BROADCASTING CAREER
DJ Pastor began his professional radio career in 1998 at CKI FM, now known as TruFM. His talent and natural connection with audiences saw him progress through the station, presenting a variety of prominent programmes including breakfast, afternoon drive and late-night music shows.
He later joined SABC’s Umhlobo Wenene FM, one of South Africa’s largest African-language radio stations and a major broadcasting platform within the Eastern Cape and Xhosa-speaking market nationally.
At Umhlobo Wenene FM, DJ Pastor became particularly well known as a presenter and content producer on the station’s flagship breakfast programme, Breakfast Eyondlayo Ekuseni (B.E.E.). His work on the show further established him as a familiar and trusted broadcasting personality, combining topical conversation, entertainment, music and audience engagement.
With years of experience behind the microphone, his broadcasting style is characterised by energy, confidence, quick thinking and an instinctive ability to connect with diverse audiences.
