Based: Durban
I have been a DJ for over 20 years, touched lives, helped make memories and been a personal part in so many lives. I can only thank my amazing clients for that.
The reason I do this is simply – I am a professional entertainer. There is nothing more important than making sure your function is the best it can possibly be. I have played music for two of our past presidents, done the “official” closing party, hosted by SATIB for 1000s of Indaba tourists for over 8 years, made magic happen for so many Brides and Grooms and played at too many corporate gigs to remember them all.
The key is in the details, whether you need specific music, or I am following a format, helping MC or just playing an awesome party. I am always prepared. A good DJ is not the guy or girl who can play the top40 hits but someone who can read a crowd, keep your guests entertained and the dance floor jam packed.
I like personal meetings with all my clients before the function to find out as much as I can about their expectations, music selection and format. I love interacting with the guests on the evening and finding out what they like and playing their requests.
My music selection has evolved over my years of deejaying from Vinyl, then to CDs and now I play off the worldclass Pioneer DDJ-T1 driven by a Mac. You most definitely have to keep up with the times, and I love keeping my equipment both quality and updated.
In a nutshell I provide the Ferrari of sound and lighting, coupled with experience and professionalism. All this is fueled by my desire to make your function better than any expectation you or your guests may have. I like to be involved, help out as much as possible! I mean I have carried drinks, plates and even umbrellas in the pouring rain for many of my clients.
Another passion of mine is that I manage Red Cap Radio for a local clothing retailer Mr Price. I present a show on the station Tuesday to Friday and I am also a voice artist, you may have heard me on the Hirsch adverts recently.
