A Quantity Surveyor by profession, Sebe Spring is an unsigned aspiring singer/songwriter in the African/Afrosoul genre whose passion for music dates back to her early childhood.
She’s currently working on her debut single which will be produced by World Music Singer, Songwriter and International performer Mbuso Khoza.
Her sounds are influenced largely by rich African beats and vocals “from Cape to Cairo” as she likes to refer to it with imported elements of Soul. She writes mostly in her home language which is Zulu. She writes about Political and Social issues inspiring young people and encouraging TOGETHERNES, LOVE and PROSPERITY.
On a full live performance set of Sebe Spring and her live band, audiences can expect to be touched as she presents her soulful vocals. Also expect Zulu drum beats and traditional guitar sounds, energetic traditional dance and chanting with a bit of exotic dancing when she sings about Love. She is inspired by artists like India Arie, Erikah Badu, Jill Scott, Tweet, Lauryn Hill, Angelique Kidjo, Khadja Nin, Busi Mhlongo, Letta Mbulu, Oumou Sangare,
Sibongile Khumalo, Mfazomnyama, Shaluza Max, Ismael Lo, Yousso N’Dour, Salif Keita, Baaba Maal, Fela and Femi Kuti and many others.
She currently performs mostly at private and corporate functions. She has also shared the stage with artists such as Sabelo Mthembu; Bongeziwe Mabandla; Zamajobe and Siphokazi. She has also performed at the Joy of Jazz Fringe stage in 2014.
Before she decided to launch herself as an Afrosoul solo artist, Sebe Spring had recorded a full Gospel album as part of a duo named Soul Angels, a name which describes the type of Gospel they did (Soulful).
Sebe Spring has organised a few live shows, one of which, she featured Zamajobe and Andile Bebula. This was her way of trying to put the spotlight away from herself by being behind the scenes of the music. This did not last long as it became clear that she loves the stage and as a result has had to surrender to her passion and ‘face the music’. To date she has composed and arranged numerous songs which she hopes will be heard soon.
Sebe Spring is committed to delivering quality live performances that leave the audience longing for more! Her experience in the corporate world has taught her to be disciplined and to take every opportunity very seriously and professionally.
