Wayne Mckay has a long history in the entertainment industry as a Stand up Comedian ,actor , radio & Television Voiceover artist and popular Master of Ceremonies. He is best know for his ” Wheelies ” clip on You tube that has been circulating the globe .He freelances around the country , one of his best known shows , being his one man show “Roots “He was voted first runner up at the 2003 Sprite Soul Comedy Festival in Sandton.
He has also appeared in the very successful stand up show Three Dicks & a Chick at the Grahamstown Festival during the same year. This versatile artist has played in many theatres around the world , including the Cape Comedy Collective ( 2000) On Broadway (2005) The Labia Theatre ( 2006) Obz Café ( 2006) Comedy Store London (2006) Joseph Stone Theatre (2007) Westridge Civic Centre (2008) Barans Theatre ( 2008) Theatre on the Pavilion ( 2009) Baxter Theatre (2010) Theatre in The Muze 2011 , Drum Theatre Austarlia ( 2011) Wayne can been seen in the popular ” Ali Barber Show” on M-Net & SABC . Mckay also competed and won a cooking competition on the BBC Cooking programme ” Off the Menu with Ainsley Harriot. Wayne is currently a member of Character Castings and has appeared in many local and international advertisements.
Wayne `s voice can be heard on various radio spots and his specialty is comedy character voices and off- beat roles . During 2006 he was the voice of the quirky ” Whacker ” phone prankster on the popular Heart 104.9 fm afternoon drive show .He also assist radio stations with outside broadcasting for numerous events . Wayne also lends his voice to various radio stations including KFM , Bush Radio , Voice of The Cape , The Taxi ( online ) These stations honored Wayne`s talents to create ads for major corporate clients . Wayne has played the role as Master of Ceremonies for many events from corporate year end functions , team building , incentive awards , gala evenings,weddings , golf days and corporate product launches . Wayne has worked with many corporate clients which include Pick & Pay , SAB, MTN, FNB, NEDBANK, Metropolitan , Old Mutual, Direct Axis, The City of Cape Town, Shoprite Nissan ,The Foschini Group , Grandwest Casino and a host of Government Departments . Wayne is also a fully qualified Events Co-ordinator with background in Marketing and Events .
He runs his own events company ” Wayne Mckay events Management ” . With above mentioned experience wayne organizes live shows as well as some mentioned above . He has a large database of business and social contacts to draw on for clients who want to organise networking functions and product launches.
