Founded in 2012, by Ferdy ferd, a SAMA award nominated, Nigerian Sound City Music Award nominated and 2010 Channel O Music Video Award winning artist for Most Gifted RnB as the lead vocalist and songwriter on urban pop band, Urban Reign’s “Addicted”, multi – genre songwriter, producer, actor, the # 1 session singer for recording giant, Electromode. In addition Ferdy was also supporting artist for multi-platinum selling international artists, Lil Wayne, Drake, Rick Ross, Trey Songz, Tyga, Shane Ward and Ronan Keating, The Delivery Boys is a Johannesburg based performing company that has been putting enormous effort and energy in promoting the art of vocal ensemble and changing the face of the conventional corporate/cover band as we know it.
With extensive experience in the entertainment industry as session musicians, recording artists, live performers, producers and songwriters having penned hits for artists such as Mandoza , Proverb , Jamali and Denim, The Delivery Boys, together with Idols Season 8 top 18 finalist , Maryke Buffel, strive to “Deliver” a wide variety of musical products, guaranteeing a never – before – seen, never – to – be – repeated, once off musical experience!!!!.
As performing artists, The Delivery Boys’ frontline experience collectively spans well beyond the 29yrs of the eldest members lifetime. Their hyper energetic live showcases, outrageous, yet undeniably entertaining, stage personas and effortless air of sophistication, are due to their backgrounds in musical theatre, acting for stage and television, and their global travels, performing in countries such as Dubai, Spain, Morocco, Israel and The Seychelles for several months at a time. The Delivery Boys also boast a backline of the most highly-educated, esteemed and talented musicians that South Africa has to offer.
As individuals, The Delivery Boys are interestingly diverse and unique, yet astoundingly complimentary and unified in their passion and vision to maintain their image as curious, innovative and fearless creative entrepreneurs in their re – introduction and re – imagination of classic and contemporary songs and genres, fusing the timeless musicality and essence of the Motown/Soul/Jazz/Pop eras with the new school/popular style and flavour of their generation.
