A String Of Pearls is a vibrant string trio based in Johannesburg, Gauteng. The trio’s outstanding quality and stunning variety of repertoire make them adaptable to any function – from weddings and private dinner parties to corporate functions.

The trio consists of a violinist, violist, and cellist. All members have extensive experience as soloists, session musicians, and ensemble players. A String Of Pearls boasts an impressive repertoire to suite any function, from standard classics like Pachabel’s Canon in D and Bach’s Air On A G-String, to Gatsby-esque Scott Joplin rags, to modern top 40 songs. Their use of acoustic instruments make them a great addition to a wedding or dinner party where no sound system is available.

The trio’s combined years of experience in the music industry give them the expertise and flexibility to work closely with each client to provide the perfect music for their special event. A String Of Pearls have played over 40 weddings as a trio. The core trio (pictured) plays together, but a member of the trio may occasionally be substituted from our pool of equally excellent musicians
