Sonia’s modelling career began in 1998 and this led to her representing Southern Africa in the Mnet Face of Africa competition in 1999. She was crowned 2nd runner-up in the Miss SA 2001 beauty pageant and in 2011 and 2012 she was selected to adjudicate the Miss SA beauty pageants.

Sonia, wife to Matthew and mother of 2 boys, was born in Pimville, Soweto and is fluent in 6 South African languages. She is currently learning Russian, this after having spent 6 years living there. In 2006 she graduated with a BComm in Marketing & Business Management Degree.
2008 saw Sonia venturing into the business world when she founded Booth Sports, a sports merchandising close-corporation and Bonneventia S, a footwear manufacturing and retailing company. She was awarded the Best Innovation Award at the SAB Kickstart Awards in 2011. She was also a participant in the Making Moves television program which profiles businesses in South Africa.
In 2009, she and her husband Matthew founded The Booth Education & Sports Trust, a non-profit public benefit organisation that focuses on Book Clubs, Spelling Bee Tournaments, football Coaching Clinics and mentorship/empowerment initiatives.
2010 saw Sonia write a column that appeared on The Star, Cape Argus, Mercury and Isolezwe newspapers during the World Cup.
Sonia has been profiled on numerous TV shows/programmes including Top Billing, My Top 10 at 10 Mzansi Magic, Pasella, Expresso Show, Mzansi Insider, 3Talk, Felicia Mabuza-Suttle show, Redi Thlabi Talk Show, Afternoon Express to name but a few. She has also graced the covers of Sandton, Mamas & Papas, True Love, Real, Get It and the Ackermans magazines. The public’s interest in her profile has led to her interviews for Destiny, Joburg Style, Sandton, Women & Home, You, Drum, True Love, Real, Glamour, Marie Claire, Fairlady, Essays Of Africa, Citizen, The Star, City Press, Sunday Times, Sunday Independent, etc.
Booth has added the title of Author to her CV and had a very successful book launch at the Connaught Rooms in London in November 2014 where she was awarded The Reinvent Yourself Coach Award. This award affords her the platform to share her knowledge and expertise on The Art Of Reinvention. Her Johannesburg launch was held on 24 April 2015 in Hyde Park and the media coverage included Eye Witness News(EWN), Love PSL, Buzz(ANN7) and Real Goboza(RGB) television shows. She published her second book titled Surviving ICU (a memoir) in March 2017 and is also finalising 3 other titles.
Sonia has taken the role of MC with the Women of Valour Celebration event being her latest engagement. This event benefitted the LBOC (Let’s Build Our Country) Fund, a non-profit organisation. She is in demand as an inspirational speaker and she has done talks for organisations such as Pick n Pay, African Bank, Charterhouse School, TARA Hospital and women empowerment conferences such as Woman’s Achievers Congress. The line-up of speakers included Kim Kiyosaki, Veronica Tam, Bridget Edwards and Timothy Maurice. Sonia has also shared the stage with Farai Gundan, Kagiso Msimango, Thabang Mashigo, Sbu Leope, Naima Mclean, Andrew Barsa, Dr Richie Achukwu, Malibongwe Xaba and Linda Ntuli at the Sunday Circle Leadership 2020 dialogue. On 14 July 2016 Mikateko Media gave Sonia the platform to address over 200 female entrepreneurs and businesswomen at the Financial Fitness Seminar, her mandate was: How To Reinvent Yourself In Business. This was a highly successful event that saw the FinancialFitness hashtag trending on social media on the day. Moreover, Sonia was one of the workshop facilitators for the I Was Born To Speak seminar, an initiative for aspiring public speakers.

The month of May 2017 saw Sonia being introduced to talk radio as the host of Opinion Booth on CliffCentral.com
