Shiksha Arora is a Kenyan media personality, journalist, television and radio presenter, digital creator, dancer and professional event host. She is widely recognised as “Kenya’s Dancing Anchor”, having developed a distinctive personal brand by combining journalism, entertainment and dance. She is based in Nairobi and currently works with TV47 while also continuing her radio and digital-media work.
Shiksha originally studied Microbiology and Biotechnology at the University of Nairobi. During her university years, her interest shifted towards broadcasting and storytelling. She subsequently completed a Master’s degree in Broadcast Journalism at the University of Westminster in London, developing her skills in journalism and television production.
Her media career began in 2013, when she joined Easy FM as a part-time radio presenter. What began as an unexpected opportunity developed into a successful career in broadcasting. She later gained experience with international media organisations, including the BBC, before establishing herself in Kenyan television.
In 2018, Shiksha joined K24 TV as a news anchor and subsequently worked with the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC). She became particularly popular for bringing an energetic and approachable personality to television news. In 2024, she joined TV47, where she presents both news and entertainment programming.
Dance has always played an important role in Shiksha’s life. She began dancing at a young age and later incorporated it into her media career. Her spontaneous dance videos filmed around the newsroom went viral, helping her establish a substantial digital following and earning her the nickname “The Dancing Anchor.”
Her ability to combine serious journalism with entertainment has made her a distinctive figure in Kenyan media. She has also worked as a brand influencer, choreographer, performer and digital content creator, collaborating with local and international brands.
Shiksha has received recognition for her broadcasting work, including the Best Female Anchor award at the Asian Weekly Achievers Awards in 2019. In 2026, she was also recognised at the Kalasha International Film & TV Awards, where she won Positive Impact Content Creator of the Year.
