Based: Johannesburg

Most commonly known as the dynamite from SA Idols Season 5, Pixie Bennett has been in the music business professionally since 2001 as a singer, recording artist, club and freestyle vocalist, go-go dancer and MC. She has worked for DJ’s/Producers of chill house, electro, deep house, funky house, hard house, drum and bass and more! Pixie also hosted her own online radio show called BOOMBOX showcasing local and international Deep House artists on Euro Trash Music. After forming and heading the Artist Management and Bookings division at leading dance label Soul Candi managing the likes of DJ Euphonik and Mi Casa, she left to focus on her own agency in early 2012. Her soulful and jazzy voice combined with an energetic and magnetic onstage performance has seen to her being booked for many events, local and international for the past decade. Pixie started out in the club scene, later taking a break and beginning a band project. She then entered SA Idols shortly after returning back to SA from Europe, making it to the top 7, gaining a large national fan base. Her pop rock band ‘The Pixie Bennett Band’ experienced local success and was nominated for an MK award for “Best New Artist“ for their début video which charted at number 1. The band’s most popular released track was “So Spun” which also charted in the 5fm Top 40 for 5 weeks. In 2010 Pixie’s career came full circle introducing her back into the dance scene where she mostly performed live vocals with Lady Lea, Erica Elle, Dino Bravo and other well known DJ’s. She is perfect for the main market, freestyling over smooth Deep House tracks or for the commercial formal dance market. In 2012 Pixie had a number 1 charting track ( YFM) with DJ Whisky- “City Lights” that has been released on the Soul Candi’s 10 Year Anniversary album. This has fuelled her longtime dream, to have her music played in townships to top class events and to connect with music lovers without the separation of borders or background .
Pixie’s new debut dance album has recently been signed to Universal Music SA. Her single ‘Save Yourself’ is currently featured on national radio and TV – charting at number 1 on YFM local charts and winning “Song Of The Week “ on Metro FM.
