Orlando Venhereque is a Mozambican-born saxophonist, flautist, composer, arranger, producer and music educator whose distinctive sound blends contemporary jazz with the rich rhythms and musical traditions of Mozambique.
Beginning his musical journey at the National Music School in Maputo, Orlando initially trained in classical clarinet before expanding into saxophone and flute. His career has taken him across Africa, Europe and the Middle East, performing alongside musicians from Mozambique, South Africa and the international jazz community. He has appeared at prominent events including the Cape Town International Jazz Festival, Standard Bank Joy of Jazz, Mozambique International Jazz Festival and Luanda Jazz Festival.
His debut album, Healing Africa, showcases his signature Afro-jazz style, combining contemporary jazz influences with Mozambican rhythms and compositions.
