Born in South Africa Nikiwe Bikitsha is one of the countrys leading radio and television news personalities. She was a Field Reporter; Anchored news at Talk Radio 702. Former Senior News Anchor at CNBC Africa. Bikitsha was one of the Anchors of e.tvs breakfast show Morning Edition when it was launched in 2001. She Co-Anchored the current affairs radio show AMLive on SAfm (SABC) with respected journalist John Perlman (AMLive has built a reputation as one of the most influential shows in the country). She was the host of the prime time current affairs television show Interface, on SABC3.

Nikiwe Bikitsha is a South African journalist, television presenter, radio host and social commentator best known on television for hosting SABC3’s current affairs show Interface and for anchoring the news on CNBC Africa (on DStv).

On Tuesday, 11 May 2009 she joined DStv’s eNews Channel as co-anchor of the channels Primetime news bulletin, alongside Jeremy Maggs.

Currently studying for her honours degree in journalism from Wits University, Nikiwe was one of the anchors of e.tv’s breakfast show Morning Edition in 2001 – when the show first launched.

In the radio industry she has managed the news team for Talk Radio 702 and anchored the news for the station. Between 2004 and 2007 she co-hosted the current affairs radio show AM Live on SAFM, alongside John Perlman.

In 2006, she was awarded the prestigious ‘women in media’ awards as the rising star of that year. This is an award that is given to women journalists under 30, who’ve done outstanding work.

In 2007 she left the show to move to CNBC Africa and in 2009 she joined the eNews channel.

She also currently writes a social commentary column for the Mail & Guardian entitled High Heels.

As of June 2009 she is the co-host and co-producer (with Siki Mgabadeli) of the SABC3 business magazine show Africa Inc., which investigates the complex issues that surround and drive the country’s Black Economic Empowerment policies.

Nikiwe’s interests include reading, travelling and running. She is a committed member of the Bethesda Methodist Church which is her spiritual home. She is part of the team that will launch the church’s website.

She is the youngest of three children and is very close to her family. She has a 6-year-old son.
