Moonchild Sanelly – South Africa’s ‘Queen of Gqom’
Moonchild Sanelly’s original sound of “future ghetto funk” was born with her diverse influences, Durban and Johannesburg musical influences, and solidified with her award-winning debut album Rabulapha!
A string of smash hits has since has gained her superstar status in South Africa, recently making some bold international strides through collabs with Beyonce, Gorillaz, Diplo, Major Lazer and Ghetts. Her new album is in the works, and the new single ‘Yebo Teacher’ is out now.
Her electrifying energy, infectious voice and killer hooks make her one of the most sought after acts today, whilst her outspoken approach to female sexual empowerment makes her one of the most poignant. Moonchild Sanelly is fearless, inclusive, a lot of fun… and she’s only just getting started.
