Hailing from East London, South Africa. Mobi Dixon has been produc-ing music since 1999 in high school. He released his 1st EP “Dance is Kulcha” on vinyl and digital in 2007. After winning the DJU/AXE remix competition in 2008 he took his craft to the next level and worked with labels like House Africa, Sheer House and Kalawa Jazzme. He did local and international remixesnfor artists like MiCasa, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Zim Ngqawana, Rowick Deep, Fistaz Mixwell, Giggs Superstar and Marissa Guzman. This lead to a record deal with Sheer House and Mobi released his debut album “Club Kulcha”

In 2013 he released his 2nd EP under Soul Candi Records “Tribal Soul EP” headlined by the lead single “Love Color Spin” featuring the talented Msaki on vocals.2014 sees the release of his breakout single “City Rains” featuring talented soft rock artist M.que. This fusion of jazz, soft rock and African rhythms best represents Mobi’s unique sound he calls tribal soul. The single created a huge demand for an album and Mobi Dixon released the “Tribal Soul” album in October 2014. The album went on to be Number 1 on iTunes and was in the top 10 most selling albums at Musica in the 1st quarter of 2015.

In 2015 he released the repackaged and was nominated in the same cate-gory at SAMA23.In 2017 celebrated gold status of the album by releasing the deluxe “Live The Music Gold Edition” which includ-ed remixes and a new hit single “Bhut-iza.” This was the introduction of the late rising star Nichume. The lead single went on to reach gold status and “Live The Music Gold Edition” reached platinum status.2017 became a special year as on the back of Metro FM Award win, Mobi Dixon landed 2 major international remix deals. Namely, American R&B Superstar Maxwell with “Lake By The Ocean” and Nigerian Afro Beats Superstar Davido featuring Tinashe with “How Long.”2018 marks the 10 year anniversary since Mobi’s debut album and he celebrates in musical style with a 10 track album “10 Steps Forward.” The album features the likes of Shekinah, J’Something, Samthing Soweto, DJ Tira, Nokwazi, Kwesta and more. The lead single “VISA” paved way for the 2nd single “Abantu” with Samthing Soweto. The album was nominated Best Dance Album and “Abantu” nomi-nated Best Music Video at the SAMAs.

After many nominations through the years Mobi Dixon finally won his 1st SAMA award in 2019 for the Best Remix Encore “I Got You”In the midst of Covid-19 Mobi Dixon album “Tribal Soul Special Edition” which features exclusive remixes and bonus tracks. He also re intro-duced “Love Colour Spin” to the mainstream which became an instant hit. The much anticipated single went straight inti high rotation on all major radio stations and peaked at number 3 on the EMA top 100. In 2015 house music guru Louis Vega felt the City Rains wave from the USA. He did a remix package which was released worldwide under Vega Records.2016 sees the release of the “Live The Music” album which cemented Mobi Dixon as a major player in the SA house music fraternity and a force to be reckoned with in the SA music industry as a whole. The album features the likes of Monique Bingham, Black Motion, Berita, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, MiCasa, Bantu Soul and introduced Inga Hina and others.

The lead single “Trigger” peaked at number 3 in SA RAMS radio charts and was followed by the internation-ally recognized “Mixed Up Chick” with Monique Bingham. The 3rd and final single “Ezizweni” featuring Berita peaked at number 2 on over-all radio charts and the music video hit the number 1 spot as the most played video in SA on the TV charts. The album won Best Dance Album at the 16th Metro FM Music Awards released “The Chapel” in November 2020 which was preceeded by the singles “Kobanini” and “Camagu” which went on to accumulate over 5 million streams.In November 2021 Mobi Dixon released his much-anticipated album “When House Was House” under his new stable Citrus Music, with the lead title single which is said to be his best work after 14 years in the industry.
