Matsi Modise is a South African entrepreneur, investor and climate finance and technology leader whose work sits at the intersection of climate innovation, sustainable investment, fintech, entrepreneurship and Africa’s economic transformation.
She is the Africa Lead for the World Climate Foundation, where she has helped establish the organisation’s Africa Leading initiative, working to bridge the climate investment divide between the Global North and Global South and ensure that African businesses, innovators and investment opportunities have a meaningful voice in the global climate economy.
Matsi is the founder of Furaha Afrika Holdings, focused on investment, technology, innovation and climate finance. She is also the founder of Climate FinFinder, a technology platform designed to connect climate projects, products and services with appropriate sources of climate finance—helping unlock capital for solutions that support industrial decarbonisation and Africa’s transition to a more sustainable economy.
Her experience extends across investment banking, fintech, venture capital, technology, policy reform and corporate governance. She has invested in African fintech businesses and has held numerous board, trustee and advisory positions, including roles connected to the Technology Innovation Agency (TIA), Momentum Metropolitan Holdings, SAB Foundation, Kuehne + Nagel, Agri-Vie Private Equity and Connected Capital LLP in London.
Recognised internationally for her leadership, Matsi was selected by the World Economic Forum as one of its Top 50 Global Shapers and was named by Quartz Africa among 30 leading Africans across technology, business, science, politics, design, media and the arts.
As a keynote speaker, Matsi brings a distinctly African perspective to the global conversation around climate capital, green entrepreneurship and sustainable growth.
