Based: Cape Town
I am a SAMA-nominated singer-songwriter, composer, and producer with three decades of music-making experience. My journey has been one of unwavering dedication to capturing the depth of human emotion and creating beauty through sound.
I am someone who likes to immerse herself in nature, and I liken the feeling that music gives us to the feeling that nature evokes in us- awe, wonder, a sense of something bigger at play, humbling beauty: a flow state. When I make music, I connect to this flow state and I hope to leave listeners with a feeling of deep connection, solace and communion with something elemental/fundamental inside themselves.
As both a performer and creator, I draw on my multifaceted skills to craft music that is layered, cohesive, and emotionally resonant. This holistic approach allows me to offer a deeply personal musical experience that connects on multiple levels.
I began writing songs at a young age and have since released nine albums of original music. The countless hours spent honing my craft have allowed me to explore diverse styles, making me a versatile songwriter capable of working across various genres.
My music has been placed in advertisements, films, and television series, and I have written jingles that reflect my unique style and leave a lasting impression. Over time, I’ve honed a keen instinct for crafting catchy, impactful melodies, and using music to convey messages and tell stories with depth.
As a composer, I bring a unique perspective infused with female empathy and intuition, creating emotive, immersive soundscapes. I write library music for Mama Africa, Africa’s largest music library, and my compositions range from music with a distinct local flavour, tailored for Africa, to other genres and soundtracks suited for various global contexts. Working from my fully equipped home studio, I transform ideas into polished, creative productions.
Producing is another key aspect of my work. I take pride in overseeing a project from concept to completion—writing and producing music that resonates deeply. I am able to bring ideas to life with precision and creativity, ensuring that every project is crafted to its fullest potential.
At the heart of my music lies a deep love for creating something that comes from and connects to spirit. Whether I am working on an advert, a film or a song, I always draw from a deep well, and it is the authenticity and depth of feeling that people connect with in my music.
