30 years in radio broadcasting, including over a decade as the host of 702’s breakfast show, honed John’s natural ability to tell a story in a way that captivates an audience.
His stage presence, together with his easy, conversational style and his extensive bank of anecdotes make him an entertaining MC and speaker.
Since he’s left the airwaves he has moved into business and has interests across numerous sectors and projects where his ability to bring people together has made him a successful dealmaker.
John is an Irishman who has lived in South Africa for over 30 years and calls Johannesburg home. A former British Lions rugby player, John’s roots in sport led him to sports commentary and analysis both on TV and in the press . A veteran broadcaster, John has interviewed presidents, CEOs, criminals, celebrities and yet maintains an ability to connect with the person in the street.
John is a Laureus Ambassador, and volunteers his time to support their Sport for Good projects which use sport as a tool to bring about social change.
He is also passionate about rhino conservation and was nominated for the inaugural Rhino Conservation Awards.
