Jana Strydom is the epitome of today’s leading lady. She has the poise and presence – and the talent – to play aristocrats and peasants, businesswomen and outdoor girls, heroines and villainesses, with charm, grace and integrity. Having been schooled at the Tshwane University of technology’s Drama School, Jana Cut her teeth on classical Greek Drama, Avant Garde European Theatre, and indiginous plays before her Television career was launched when she joined Egoli in 2003. Since then Jana has appeared on numerous local television series and soap operas including the SAFTA and ATKV award winning Erfsondes and Swartwater, as well as, 7de Laan, Geraamtes in die Kas, Donkerland and DSTV’s popular Binneland and Villa Rosa. She will also be seen on the silver screen in Feature Films such as Verskietende Ster, Rose vir Rosie, Leading Lady and Treurgrond. Jana has been nomitated for two South African Film and Television Awards for Best Performance by an Actress, and she has earned three coveted ATKeertjie awards for her work in 2010, 2011 and 2013. Jana has won a best actress award in a short film, for Vashou Ding. Completely fluent in English and Afrikaans, Jana Strydom has proved her immense versatility, and her winning personality, both off and on screen, is sure to play a role in her future development as one of South Africa’s Major Talents.
