From Dubai to Sydney, Cape Town to Miami, London to Toronto and New York to Johannesburg. Euphonik has played sets accross the globe, entertaining discerning clubbers and gaining hundreds of thousands of fans spanning five continents. He’s served on the panel for the electronic music industry’s premier annual conference, The Miami Winter Conference, and he’s opened for some of the bigger names in the electro music industry including Swedish House Mafia, Avicii, Afrojack, Skrillex, Louie Vega, Richie Hawtin, ATB and Markus Scholtz. All of this before the age of 30!

Despite gaining an international following at a rapid rate, Euphonik is still very much a staple of South Africa’s club scene. One of the country’s most sought-after DJ’s, he gigs almost every night of the week across all nine provinces. His two prime time weekend radio shows on national station, 5fm (Ultimix Weekend Edition airs Saturdays, 18:00-22:00 and My House airs Saturdays 19:00-22:00) and his regular mixes on Fresh’s drive time feature, ‘The Ultimix @ Six’, provide him with the ideal platform for reaching music lovers throughout the country. But when asked about what Euphonik loves most about the work he does, he confidently replies, “Putting smiles on people’s faces. I make people happy for a living and I love it.”

Born in Mpumalanga, South Africa. Euphonik spent his childhood in Likazi, later moving to Daveyton and then Benoni. His early love of music was fueled by artists his father listened to – the likes of The Spinners, Marvin Gaye, Stimela and Hugh Masekela. He started DJing during his late teens and quickly established himself as a formidable force in the club music scene. It wasn’t long until his infectious mixes achieved radio play, initially on regional station Yfm, and eventually on 5fm, where he was offered the opportunity of hosting his own shows.

Euphonik has been nominated for the South African Music Awards as well as the MetroFM Awards. His name has been included in The Mail & Guardian’s 300 Young South Africans list (a comprehensive and reputable list of people that will shape and define their industries for decades to come). He’s released four albums to date in the For the Love of House series: Vol 1. Politics of Dance, Special Edition and Total Blackout, and has featured extensively on electro and house compilations. A man passionate about investing in the next generation of DJ’s, Euphonik also hosts a highly successful annual workshop for aspiring DJ’s called DJ101.

In 2009, Euphonik joined forces with legendary South African radio and house music mogul, Fresh. They formed F.eU, rapidly becoming one of the most successful duo’s to emerge from the country. From their own national radio show on 5FM – Power Nite of Dance – to their own TV Show, ‘Club Culture’ on national broadcaster SABC 1 and five albums later F.eU’s star continues to rise. Known across the country for their world-class gigs, F.eU are also committed to taking South African sounds to the rest of the world, with their annual ‘SA Miami Invasion’ tour now in its fourth year.

Exposing South Africa’s music scene and sounds – especially local electronic dance music – to the rest of the world, is something that Euphonik is passionate about.

Euphonik also recently founded record label, euNITE, which he intends using as a platform to promote up and coming artists.

Music man aside, Euphonik is an avid collector of pop culture kidrobot figurines. He began collecting them in 2012 after seeing them in almost every town he visited and developing a liking for them. he now owns in excess of forty figures. Despite his busy schedule, he still finds time to read and enjoys topics ranging from music business to property and even finance. And when asked what his secret is to striking balance in his life, Euphonik replies, ‘I still haven’t achieved all of my goals yet. I’m very conscious of that and that’s what keeps me fighting.’

Multi-faceted, highly talented and armed with unwavering passion, energy and determination, Euphonik has already established himself as a consistently top-notch DJ in South Africa. With international demand for Euphonik rapidly accelerating, the world truly is becoming his playground.
