Elani is a Kenyan Afro-pop trio from Nairobi made up of Maureen Kunga, Wambui Ngugi and Brian Chweya. Since emerging on the East African music scene, the group has become known for rich vocal harmonies, polished songwriting and a sound that blends Afro-pop, soul and contemporary Kenyan influences.

They rose to prominence with breakout songs such as “Jana Usiku,” “Milele,” “Kookoo” and “Barua ya Dunia,”which helped establish them as one of Kenya’s standout modern pop groups. Their debut album, Barua ya Dunia, cemented that early success, while later releases including “Heartbeat,” “Joto,” “Only You” and “Nimejaribu” showed the group’s continued ability to evolve while keeping their melodic, accessible style.
