Efya, born Jane Awindor, is an award-winning Ghanaian singer, songwriter and live performer celebrated for her powerful, soulful vocals, captivating stage presence and distinctive fusion of African rhythms, contemporary R&B, jazz and Afro-soul.
Although sometimes associated with the broader East African music scene, Efya is Ghanaian, not Ugandan.
Efya first gained national recognition as a finalist on Ghana’s Stars of the Future talent competition, where her remarkable vocal ability attracted widespread attention. Following the competition, she formed the musical duo Irene & Jane with fellow contestant Irene Logan before embarking on a successful solo career.
