Easy Freak is a dynamic South African musical duo consisting of Dom Hurd and Jude Kenrick, celebrated for their infectious fusion of pop, funk, soul, R&B and electronic music. Originally from Durban and now based in Johannesburg, the duo has established a distinctive sound characterised by irresistible grooves, smooth vocals, funky basslines and contemporary electronic production.
Both accomplished musicians, songwriters and producers, Dom and Jude studied jazz at the University of KwaZulu-Natal before combining their musical talents to form Easy Freak. Their shared passion for creating original music has developed into a successful partnership, producing a signature sound that effortlessly blends old-school funk and soul influences with modern pop and electronic elements.
Their debut album, I’m Alright (2017), introduced audiences to their fresh musical style, followed by No Lies, which further established their reputation as innovative independent artists.
Easy Freak have performed at some of Southern Africa’s most celebrated music festivals, including Oppikoppi, Zakifo, MTN Bushfire Festival, Kirstenbosch Summer Concerts, 947 Joburg Day, Bacardi Holiday Club and Vic Falls Carnival.
Throughout their career, they have shared stages with renowned artists including Damian Marley, Riky Rick, Cassper Nyovest, Kwesta, Mi Casa, Shekhinah and Sho Madjozi.
Their music has enjoyed significant radio success, charting on 5FM, 947, KFM, Jacaranda FM, Algoa FM and YFM, while their music videos and performances have featured on MTV Base, Trace Urban and The Voice South Africa.
Beyond live performances, Easy Freak have collaborated with leading lifestyle and fashion brands, including H&M, Ray-Ban, Jägermeister, Daniel Wellington and Palladium Boots. They were also selected as a Deezer NEXT South African artist in 2019.
In 2025, the duo expanded their international profile with a recording agreement involving Ultra Records, European performances and their album Everything’s Blurred But You.
Continuing their creative evolution, Easy Freak released the funk-driven single Only Like You Do in August 2026, ahead of their forthcoming album The Touch.
