Since leaving France for a life of music, surf and family in South Africa’s Mother City, Rene Tanguy has become a household name in Cape Town due to his unique, passionate DJ style and audience appeal.
DJ Rene “The Frenchman” can get any dance floor moving to his powerful World sounds, his Retro, Nu-disko, Latin / Cuban / Brazilian style house and the very best of French house. He pioneered the concept of mixing DJing with live drumming and Afro-brass musicians musicians in South Africa, and has worked with prominent local musicians such as Robbie Jensen, Moreira Chonguica and Buddy Wells on saxophone, Alex van Heerden on trumpet, Tony Paco on percussion, and Alou April on guitar.
This unique and exciting show usually becomes the life of the party, while Rene keeps contact with the function coordinator in order to create the correct atmosphere during the various stages of the event.
DJ Rene performs solo with an assistant, or with a live 2 – 4 piece band.
